Valentine's Day

Last night Craig and I celebrated Valentine's Day with a date night. What's better than uninterrupted time with your husband, dinner at your favorite restaurant, and quality conversation?

Oh, I know-the babysitter putting two little boys to bed. Now, I love, love, love my boys, but having a night off of the bedtime routine is so appreciated!

Another favorite part of my day was when the hubby came home with these:

Pink Roses. My absolute favorite.

I hope everyone had a terrific Valentine's Day!!

Christmas Shopping!

Last week, the hubby took the day off work and we spent the day Christmas shopping. Shopping?! Oh, I heart shopping. It makes my heart sing. (Well, something like that).

Who cares if it was three hours driving one way? I had a goal. It involved these three words:

Now, this store makes my heart sing.

Apparently, it doesn't have the same effect on Craig.

Clutch your wallet closely, Craig. And be very afraid.

We were able to get a head start on our Christmas shopping, and while we didn't find exceptional deals, I always like starting before the full Christmas shopping madness season begins.

The back of our car at the end of the day.

See, Craig, only ONE Pottery Barn bag.

The best part about the whole day was the dinner we had at Chipotle. I've always wanted to try this restaurant, but usually we are with the kids who won't touch mexican food.

We were a little clueless in ordering, but give me a break, it was our first time!

I don't know if the employees felt sorry for us that we were clueless, or if they were running a first time customer special, but our meal was FREE!

FREE!!! I really, really love free.

According to the cashier, first time customers eat free (I'm not sure if it's just that particular location, I couldn't find anything on their website about it).

I'll have to say, those burritos and chips and salsa tasted extra good that night, and yes, we'll definitely be repeat customers.

Oh, Chipotle. You made my whole day.

Craig, thanks for enduring the shopping day. Your sarcastic wit kept me laughing all day, and I love hanging out with you!

Even if you have a bad attitude about Pottery Barn Outlet.

Weekend Getaway

The hubby and I just returned from a short twenty-four getaway.

We were ALONE! For twenty-four hours! Without kids!

I think I can count on one hand the number of times we have done this since Drew was born. My sister graciously offered to watch the boys and we celebrated a belated anniversary/birthday.

We stayed here and ate here and here.

Yes, I think I probably gained ten pounds, thank you very much. The hotel was nice, but really, do we have to charge 23/night for parking? C'mon people.

It was refreshing to get away and spend some time together, just the two of us. We had a leisurely dinner filled with adult conversation. Although, yes, the conversation did revolve around the kids. We slept in (now that's my love language), and did some shopping (wait, maybe that's my love language...).

I realized how much fun it is to get away with my husband, even if it's only for twenty four hours. He makes me laugh, listens to my ramblings, and is just a lot of fun to be with.

Even better though, is coming home to two boys who give sticky kisses and big hugs.

I really am truly, truly blessed.
