I have more pictures to download, but for now hoping all of you had a very Merry Christmas!
Christmas is over, the house is finally (somewhat) back to normal, and the toys have all found a place to belong.
It's been a Christmas...from puking children to a screaming-for-hours-on-end 19m old, this mama is exhausted and in need of a break.
It's almost 2011..and I for one am ready!
Honestly, holidays are hard. It's hard to have multiple family gatherings with family members you only see once a year. I always feel as though they are noticing what Bella CAN'T do, and how far behind she is. It's hard to know that your baby is supposed to be walking and talking and excited about opening presents. The change in routine and the sensory overload is hard. The guilt is hard-trying to make it special for the boys, all the while wanting to just go back to bed and forget about Christmas .
I'm cranky...and probably not a very fun person to live with somedays. (Actually...I know I'm not-Poor Craig)!
Thankfully, it's a new day...and almost a new year! I'm so glad God gives strength to the broken, and that his mercies are new every morning. It also helps that I was able to get away yesterday for some Starbucks and shopping. 12 hours with no calorie counting, no thickeners, no therapy, and no screaming children! Amazing what a few hours alone and a latte will do for the soul.
Ok, whining over...moving on.
Alex lost his first tooth the other day (oh, the cuteness)! Here is our conversation the other night:
Me: "Can you smile again? I love your missing tooth smile!!"
Alex: (sad, dejected face) "I think I look pretty stupid".
Oh, sweet Alex, you are (and look) adorable. I'm thinking Alex is going to have a pretty rough time when he loses his two front teeth. It probably doesn't help that his daddy keeps singing "all I want for New Years is my bottom tooth".
Here's hoping for a great 2011. For Bella, I'm hoping for no hospitalizations and big strides in development. For Alex...well...let's just hope he doesn't lose any more teeth for a while.
