Happy Mother's Day

Happy belated mother's day to all the mom's out there!

Being a mom is the hardest job I've ever done. There are no days off, no overtime incentives, no breaks, no paid vacations and holidays. I have to say though, there is nothing else I would rather be doing.

Honestly.

There are few things more rewarding than little boy giggles, sticky kisses, and the words "I wuv you mommy". The good definitely outweighs all the fights, tantrums and sleep deprivation. It is so rewarding watching my little men grow up.

Drew made me a mother's day present at preschool this year. He was so excited for mother's day this year, even telling his coach at t-ball that "tommorow is mother's day" while standing on first base! He hid my present in his backpack, and made me promise that there would be no peeking. This is what he presented me with on Sunday morning.

As you can tell, the picture of me is strikingly accurate.

The questions he answered are: (the italics are my thoughts)

My mom is 30 years old : close, he could have said forty

My mom is pretty as a flower: aaw, how sweet. sidenote: Drew states that one boy said his mom is as pretty as an alligator. Out of the mouths of preschoolers!

My mom is so smart that she knows how to take care of me and Alex: well at least I have him fooled.

The best food my mom makes is mashed potatoes: Guess who's getting mashed potatoes for dinner this week :)

My mom always says yes: Oh this answer could have been bad, very bad.

I like it when my mom washes windows because she lets me help her: How guilty do I feel now for all the times I wished I could just do it myself.

I love you boys! Thanks for loving me despite all my imperfections. You two make mother's day a very special day indeed.
